The year 2012 was a very good year for the GKS Network. We saw a huge increase in our userbase and we made some big improvements in our sites. We released our sex positions for both straights and gays along with tons of new achievement badges to go along with them. We have built our system to be as anonymous as it can be while maintaining statistics of everything within. While I'm going to be releasing a more in-depth article on all of our statistics in February, I came across a nice little number that I wanted to share with you guys.
I've always been a huge iPhone fan and have always enjoyed a nice debate about which mobile OS is superior with friends. Some will tell you that it's iOS. Others will claim it's Android. Then you have your silly peeps saying it's Microsoft's Windows Phone. Regardless of which flavor you prefer, one thing is certain...all users love looking up sex positions and finding ways to spice it up in the bedroom.
So here are our stats for 2012 based on which mobile operating system hit our site:
What you see above is our mobile visitors statistics. iOS leads the pack with 46% of our visitors using either an iPhone, iPod, or iPad. Androis OS is not far behind with 41%. To me, that was very surprising considering the huge amounts of Android devices out there in the world. Then we have Windows Phone with 9% of visitors using some type of Windows Phone device. Other devices such as Nokia browsers and such go behind the pack, but nothing like BlackBerry where it only amounts for 0.21% of our visitors.
So now that we have our numbers out there, what does it all mean? Maybe that iOS users are kinkier and have the best sex out there? Nah. It probably means absolutely nothing, but for my debates it means the world. To me, it means that iOS users probably get laid more. Why else would they be researching for more sex positions and joining a site that lets you keep track of your sex life while making a game out of it? With the huge amounts of Android devices out there, I would certainly expect them to be king of the castle, but that wasn't necessarily the case.
I was impressed with Microsoft Window Phones having 9% of our visitor traffic though. Considering their slow share of the market, they still managed to put a dent in our visitor stats. This number should continue to grow throughout 2013 and beyond.
Josh R. from Lafayette, Louisiana, claimed that maybe, just maybe, Android users are so busy having sex that they don't have time to log on to a website to log their scores or browse for new sex positions. It's a good theory, but I don't buy it.
So now I ask you guys... what do you make of the numbers above? Does it mean Apple fanboys have better sex lives than Android fans? Please do tell!
